Once again the time has come to inform all-a-y'all about Things You Ought To
-- Or Perhaps Might Like To -- See. Three things. In short:

终于有我发的新活动的信息！下一个多月之内有三个机会参观跟我有关的活动。三个很重
要的日期：
1. 2月2日（周五）黑猫骨乐队；
2。2月7日（周三）RandomK(e)乐队
3。3月9日（周五）两支丹麦最好的现代爵士乐队。

1. Black Cat Bone at 2 Kolegas
Friday Feb 2, 2007 (which is three days from now!) 10pm-VERY late. RMB30
(2 Kolegas is located in the Drive-In theatre, directly east of the
Kempinski)
The rawkinest blooziest band in Beijing is back, with a new member, bassist
Tom Wilson, who replaces the now-Oz-based Jeremy Li. Because of the nature
of the bar/your best friend's extremely-well-decked-out-basement (summertime
renovations have expanded the stage and the general Rock of the place), the
music and fun will go deep into the wee hours. Promise.

Emil de Waal is Denmark’s top drummer, having performed with and programmed,
arranged and lead for anyone who’s anyone in Denmark, and many others from
outside of the country. All told, he has appeared on more than 150 albums,
and earned a Danish Jazz Grammy nomination. His latest project, Emil de Waal
+, employs the computer as band member in a new and fresh way. Influential
music magazine the Wire says that the group’s album features “a colourful
parade of styles and sounds...It?s unclassifiable but no less fun for that.”

Each young member of Bandapart is an accomplished performer in their own
rights, and have already influenced the sound of Danish jazz and rock. As a
group they have, in their short history, attracted the attention of the
media and audiences with their scenic, dusty and dreamy ambient music,
influenced in equal parts by jazz, rock and classical music. Their sound
combines both the legacy of jazz legend Duke Ellington and the experimental
noise-rock of Sonic Youth. Of their appearance at the recent SPOT Music
Festival, one reviewer called their performance a “heart-rending beautiful
event”.

埃米尔·德·沃尔加乐队（Emil de Waal+）是以丹麦久负盛名的顶级鼓手，有“北欧鼓王”之
美誉的埃米尔·德·沃尔的名字命名的。在德·沃尔先生演奏生涯中，他先后与丹麦众多爵
士乐队以及许多国际最优秀的乐手合作，或同台演出、或灌制唱片、或创作新作品等，受
到一致好评。迄今，德·沃尔参加演出灌制的唱片已经超过150张，并多次获得丹麦“格莱美
奖”的提名。他新近组建的埃米尔·德·沃尔加乐队，是通过电脑以全新的特殊方式创作并
演奏的乐队，世界上颇具影响的音乐杂志《Wire》称其为“风格与音乐犹如色彩斑斓的游
行大军，虽然无法说清楚，但绝对是优秀之极的”。

丹麦“分离乐队”（Bandapart）的每一位乐手都在其各自的音乐领域名声显赫，虽然他们都
很年轻，但是他们对丹麦摇滚音乐和爵士乐的影响是显而易见的。在“分离乐队”暂短的历
史中，他们以其色彩宜人、含蓄有加以及充满梦幻般的音乐吸引着众多观众。他们的音乐
受到了爵士乐、摇滚乐以及古典音乐的影响，在他们的音乐中可以感受到爵士乐的偶
像Duke Ellington和噪音摇滚乐队Sonic Youth的影响。最近，“分离乐队”在丹麦SPOT音

这里原来是北京人的天下啊……

非也，全国各地，港台同胞，海外侨胞，异域洋鬼，meca大神，举凡种种人士，都会光顾IC。

否定之前对RandomK(e)的介绍。这是一支传统意义上的摇滚乐队，会像当下的年轻人一样使用采样和声音装置，可能受到了器乐后摇的影响并表现于作品。但绝对不是后摇乐队。最大的特点是乐队成员都是老外，而且更多时间活动于中国。

对两年前我看那二十多分钟的解释应该是这样：他们在不受关注的小舞台玩即兴。昨天晚上的观众不多，老外占优势。我和三位朋友看了四首曲子后撤出，很庆幸没买票。之前和乐队鼓手聊了一会，RandomK(e)正在录自己的第一张专辑。

This week is the last week in a while you'll get an events email from me, so
this is the week to check out some great stuff coming up. Four shows to tell
you about:

Emil de Waal + and Bandapart are two amazing acts from Denmark. Nu-jazz,
post rock, whatever you want to call it, it's really amazing. Sure, I'd have
to say that, but I can tell you from two gigs (and a press
conference/showcase) in Shanghai -- not to mention the shows I saw in
Denmark that first piqued my interest so that 8 months later... Here they
are... -- they are fantastic. They're playing two full shows this week, plus
a random bunch of them will perform random bunches of stuff at Waterland
Kwanyin night at 2 Kolegas tonight for Yan Jun's experimental showcase/jam.
Wanna see more rock-leaning stuff? Come to Mao on Wed. A great theatre venue
for more on the jazz side of things? Friday at Peking University. The
