Black Box

After the success of their debut CD ''Interface'' (Infacted), LIQUID DIVINE return with their second studio album ''Black Box''. Besides the just released ne single ''Click'' (to be found on INFACT1ON VOL 2, incl. Tom Wax remix!) the band was also quite successfull in territories such as USA, Poland and Russia, with the licensed debut CD to all these countries. Musicwise they create a very own and unique soundscape in between influences from bands such as Autechre, Haujobb, Frontline Assembly or even Delerium. With ''Black Box'' they present all of their musical talent and make this release a must have for fans of innovative, melodic electro.

There are some things that you should know about Tap Tap:

A. Hailing from the UK, they've created one of the catchiest albums of 2006.
B. Trying to pin down and categorize Tap Tap is nearly impossible; they simply won't stand still long enough for us to even try.

Lanzafame, their debut album, practically bounces from track to track with boundless, endless energy and enthusiasm, knocking down everything in its path. To say that this album is infectious would be a grievous understatement-- clocking in at just over half an hour, it practically demands repeat listens. Filled with joyfully noisy guitars, crashing drums, and gorgeous harmonies (please listen to the Beach Boys-esque "to our continuing friendship", for example), the songs often feel like they are held together by the skin of their teeth -- as if they could fall apart (or maybe just explode) at any second. "Little Match (Big Fire)" is all pounding rhythms and hooky, urgent guitars, as well as a call-to-arms chorus, while "Here Cometh" has a sunny acoustic melody, sweetly yelping falsetto vocals, and a bass drum that seems to always follow just behind the rest of the song, making it charmingly ramshackle. With clever lyrics and influenced by anything (ska, punk, folk, Britpop) and everything, Tap Tap has created a gloriously messy, ebullient, shiny pop album--and an impressive debut. - Sara Ferentz (2006, The Daily Copper)

In describing themselves as “Casio grind”, Trencher have pretty much summed their whole sound up on my behalf. This nine track mini album is over a meager twenty-five minutes after it began, with a good portion of the material here well under two minutes, which is probably the ideal duration for this caterwauling onslaught of noise metal posturing and inappropriate organ riffs. The song titles should give you a decent idea of whether or not you’re going to get along with this release: ‘Two Semis Don’t Make A Hard-On’, ‘Nightmare On Crack Street’ and ‘Mouth To Anus’ are just three choice cuts, the latter of which has its own Quicktime video included on the disc. I only hope they didn’t tell the poor little girl who stars in it what they called the track. Yikes.
