Looking for all the world like the long lost daughter of Laura Nyro and sounding like she could have been percolated at the very juncture when the likes of Judee Sill were desperately making minor headway, one could be forgiven for thinking that Marissa Nadler was somewhat displaced. Only a matter of minutes into this exquisite third album persuades one against such narrow judgements, for Marissa Nadler occupies her own unique and timeless dimension.

After two extremely low key, but much appreciated releases, Marissa Nadler is set to raise her profile in the UK with the release of her third album Songs III: Bird On The Water on Peacefrog Records (home to Jose Gonzalez). Produced by Greg Weeks (Espers) and featuring additional Espers-associated musicians Jesse Sparhawk (mandolin, harp) and Otto Hauser (percussion) with cello and synth players alongside Marissa on guitar and her inimitable vocal, this is Marissa's most beautiful and fully realised album to date.

Marissa Nadler will be on tour from March 2007 until July, performing songs off of her latest releases
