Genre:Neo-psych folk

通常情況下Folk都不對我的口,不過也有极少数例外，比如Espers06的这张专辑，鮮明前卫的音樂個性，唯美的古典主义风格，实在很难让人拒绝。

Espers - II (2006)
 

我的点评：黑暗，悲伤，神秘，古典，前卫，唯美，让人惊艳。acoustic guitar,electronic guitar，drum，cello，dulcimer，flute，bass,organ，analog synths, assorted bells, recorder, mini-Korg, Tibetan singing bowls，doumbek, dholak（最后这两件乐器我现在都还搞不明白）````Epsers近乎疯狂的运用你所能想到的所有乐器完成了一次不可能完成的试验，还不用说具体的编排，我光听着都觉得头大，这也难怪这张专辑的texture和layers这么丰富和饱满，复古的调子和节奏，现代的编排和前卫演绎，东方元素与西方元素的融合，这一切都能让你耳朵一亮。

我最喜欢的曲目Widow's Weed大概是里面最不像民谣的，没办法，本人对experimental和psychadelic的东西比较着迷。低缓沉重的鼓点，近乎doom的阴沉氛围，交织着缥缈如鬼魅般的呓语和回声，尖锐纷乱的弦乐时隐时现，伴随着清越的acoustic guitar，宁静温和的女声逐渐占据主导，最后在逐渐放大的噪音混响中结束，整首曲子的空间感很强，氛围很黑，仿佛隐藏着孤寂和恐惧的梦魇，却又让人沉醉。

其他的像古典民谣风格的Dead Queen，以及acid感很强的Dead king，Mansfield and Cyclops也都不错。

总之，这是一张非常值得推荐的专辑。

Espers (2005)

Espers 2005 self-titled debut is a moody, dark, fuzzy, autoharp-driven masterpiece, that draws heavily from the classic folk groups of the 60's and 70's, but adds a modern twist to the genre and pulls it off well. Part of the indie-bred 'New Weird America' movement, including Devendra Banhart, Vetiver, Animal Collective and CocoRosie, this is a strange effort from a strange band, but give this a few listens and I guarantee the odd combination of all minor-key songs, fuzzy guitars, acid-drenched harps, flutes, and classical flourishes will draw you in and leave you wanting more. Which is lucky, because Espers II is out very soon.
